Job Description:


Advanced integrated performance testing (IPT) experience is a requirement for this role. An individual in this role would have a minimum of three years’ experience as part of an IPT team, yet ideally would have five or more years of IPT experience. Team members in this role would evaluate which features require performance testing, create web tests and test scripts for use in IPT and complete component level testing for the required features. The team member would determine the volumes that should be tested, ensure that the defined volumes are built into the load profile, participate in IPT executions and conduct post-test analysis. The team member would troubleshoot and identify root cause IPT issues, identify and log performance bugs and work collaboratively with development team members as they develop bug fixes. This team member would also re-test performance fixes to validate resolution of issues and performance improvements.  Additionally, this team member would be responsible for clearly articulating findings within the team, in documentation and to leadership.


1. Performance Analysis

    1. Provide recommendations for system changes that are subject to performance testing.
    2. Provide input related to performance volumetric and service level agreements.
    3. Provide input on relevant performance test scenarios


2. Performance Test Design and Development

    1. Design, create and maintain assets used to execute performance tests such as
      1. scripts automating execution of detailed test scenarios (e.g. web tests)
      2. load test profiles to support a variety of load test executions
      3. scripts or processes used for test data setup
      4. scripts or processes used for post-test validation and analysis
    2. Support development teams in contributing to the creation and maintenance of tests assets.


3. Test Preparation

    1. Setup and validate pre-test data conditions
    2. Execute pre-test “smoke testing” to ensure successful performance test executions.


4. Test Execution

    1. Support pre-test execution activities
    2. Contribute to the execution and monitoring of performance test executions

5. Test analysis and reporting

    1. Review test metrics and post-test data conditions to identify issues (e.g. functional errors, data corruption, SLA violations, etc.)
    2. Contribute to documentation of test execution results as specified.
    3. Report issues to development teams for triage
    4. Report issues and impacts to non-technical stakeholders
    5. Provide recommendations based on test outcomes prior to production deployment including, but not limited to
      1. issue resolution

6. Additional Duties

    1. create and maintain technical documentation
    2. discover and gain understanding of product objectives, architectural design and design patterns to understand the systems a particular feature would interact with.
    3. clearly articulate the need for performance testing for specific features bases on expected volume and the number of systems involved.
    4. Participate in sprint ceremonies to share integrate performance results as needed.
    5. Knowledge transfer sessions. The team member would be expected to provide information and continuous knowledge transfer to ESD staff as they collaborate with these ESD team members daily. Contracted test team members would need to be committed to freely sharing knowledge and experience to best position the ESD permanent staff and the program for long term success. Be available 8-5 and after 5pm or on weekends when explicitly requested.

Job Description :

  • Minimum 5 years on experience in Kronos as application developer or engineer
  • Understands end to end HR processes from Hire to time capture to payroll.
  • Has written multiple WIM interfaces involving integrating employee data from PeopleSoft or any other HR application with Kronos (Person Import) and also writing outbound integration from scratch for integrating time data from Kronos to payroll vendors (Pay Extracts) like ADP, Ceredian etc.
  • Very good understanding of database tables used by Kronos and their inter-relationships.
  • Candidate should possess strong SQL skills with writing complex SQLs,materialized views, high performance queries.
  • Candidate should have experience in performance tuning of the SQLs, PL/SQLs using indexes, hints, partitioning and any other Oracle tools and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and ability to work independently with on-site coordinator.

 Good to have:

  • Good understanding of pay policies, accrual policies, work rules, break rules, rounding rules and related kronos building blocks.
  • Hands-on experience with writing simple genies, hyperfinds and complex SSRS reports.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft or Workday, ADP etc is added advantage.
  • The candidate will have an opportunity to travel onsite for short term requirements
